Was able to book one of their de a suite rooms on one stay and stayed in the Cabana Suites on the other.
Got a nice mailer today and they are offering me 3 free night midweek and I can either stay in the tower or the Cabana Suites. Would like to check our the regular tower rooms, but was curious how they are. I know they are remodeling the rooms and I am not expecting a great room, but just want something clean, comfortable and functional. Any thoughts you all have are greatly appreciated. JR SwiftNov 30, I don't know if this tells you anything My standards are not high by any stretch of the imagination, I'm voluntarily staying at both the Longhorn and Hooters on my upcoming trip.
There was just something about those tower rooms that were on the wrong side of the spectrum of old and antique.
It felt more like an aged apartment that hadn't been renovated, than it did a hotel room. Interestingly, by comparison, I quite liked the "Vintage" room that I stayed in two trips ago the ones above El cortez hookup last night casino floor, which are apparently the nosebleed rooms of the hotel. I feel like they pay a lot more attention to these rooms because of their heritage. Even though these two stays were about three years apart, I can say that the vintage room was of noticeably higher quality than the tower room I've stayed in the Tower rooms a couple times and they are just OK in my opinion.
Haven't seen the newly renovated rooms. I prefer the Cabana Suite rooms, but make sure to request either the Super Suite the biggest or Junior Suite to have more room. The basic deluxe? Stayed in Elco tower many times But clean and large. Drains can run really slow Only stayed once in pavilion El cortez hookup last night above the parking garage. I know it sound awful but the room was remodeled within the last few years. There are both non-smoking and smoking rooms on that one floor. Open air hallways like an old-style motel. In October, they told me the higher floors in the tower have been remodeled.
See pix on there website. Most of the shower inserts have been recently updated. Electric plugs are few and difficult to access, many are too loose to hold a modern plug. On the plus side you get a desk, separate sitting area, fridge, safe, and Keurig.
I choose Tower over Cabana every time, Vintage rooms are fine when solo, Pavilion rooms should be avoided. FullPayDec 1, The Tower rooms are nice and big, generally clean and have a fridge, a love seat, a nice dresser and a 42" tv that is easy to hook up a HDMI cable from a laptop.
FoosDec 1, My most-recent trip July was in a tower room same comp I thought it was just fine My view was of the back of the vintage "El Cortez" above the casino facing Fremont You need your room key RFID-type in order to operate the elevator, so be aware. Agree x 1.
We have always liked the tower rooms. As others have saidours have always been clean and larger than a typical room at other hotels. It's been a couple of years since I've stayed at El Cortez, but I can say the tower room was the cleanest hotel room I've ever stayed in anywhere. The carpet was clean even in the cornersbathroom was old, but incredibly clean and it was even clean under the nightstand when I pulled it out to plug in my phone.
Informative x 1. RestonDec 2, I stayed in a tower room once and it was good. The layout was about the same as the Orleans. Furniture was older, but not in disrepair and was solid wood. The room was clean and included a fridge. It was comfortable and a very good value IMO. Fremont East and Container Park are just outside the door.
Good Luck! Ric at Joes. Thanks to everyone for your input. Good information here! JR SwiftDec 2, If you are a smoker the selection is limited. I could only stay above the parking garage and those are scary. Clientele and the walk to and from room, plus window that looked out to the walking area. Never again. I now stay in non smoking room and just take elevator when smoke is needed. My brother had one of those pavilion rooms one time.
He was not happy. FullPayDec 2, There's a. RoccoscollarDec 3, Like x 1. El Cortez is the last property on Fremont that was haven't stayed at so we're staying there in a couple weeks. We booked a "Vintage King Suite". Looks like it has a sectional couch in it from the pics. Anyone stayed in these and have any opinions of them? Thanks in advance! LoveNhaPenisDec 5, I stayed there before.
How many people in your party?
If 2 then it would be perfect. Lots of room, 2 closets to store your clothes and bags one in the front in the entryway. Yes thereis a L shaped sectional couch. They also have a fridge. These rooms are right next to the stairways down to the casino. Show Ignored Content.
